Finally I am having the give-away I promised, a week ago, you know what I was waiting for? My butterfly bush to bloom.
A good a reason as any, don't you think?
Well here they are free butterflies, just leave me a comment with the word butterfly in it, and I will put your name in the hat for a drawing 1 week from today, July 19th.
There are 30+ butterflies with body's, a few without their bodies, can you give them a home?
All the fabrics are from the same era, I would guess the 30's or 40's.
They have been hanging around in my sewing room for a few years, wouldn't you like them to hang with out with you for awhile?
They really need a new home, and somebody to love them.
So just leave your comment and maybe they can fly to your house.
I was up early this morning and staring me in the face next to the coffee pot were 2 very large over ripe bananas. Before the coffee was made, and before I got sidetracked, I Whipped up some banana bread. The recipe is wonderful just click on the link to a wonderful blog with the recipe.
Now that the butterfly's are taken care of, time for that coffee with a piece of that banana bread.
I am going to be thinning out my sewing again soon, I am going to have lots of goodies to pass on, so you better keep an eye out of those post.
Happy Quilting!

ReplyDeleteMy deceased sister was the epitome of a social butterfly. We eventually started calling her "the butterfly" and she started gathering lots of butterfly collectables. Her daughter has inherited the nickname and these would make a great gift!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - what marvelous vintage butterflies! How can you possibly part with these. I would SO love to have them. I would start working on them right away - putting them into a quilt for hanging in the spring or summer. Oh I hope I win! I've never won a giveaway yet - and this is the one I've most wanted to win so far.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in college I put a patch on my jeans at the bottom of the zipper where the material was wearing thin. My father saw it and accused me of having butterflies on my crotch and ruining the morals of my younger sister! I have laughed about that for years!!
ReplyDeleteSend the butterflies and the banana bread, too.
ReplyDeleteWe made pumpkin bread this week, of all things! I know it's July, but we got a hankering for it and thot it might make us feel cooler. It was great.
My mother-in-law is a quilter and loves to reclaim vintage linens at yard sales and auctions, then finish them up and give them a new home, out of the bottom drawer where they have lived for years. I'll bet if I gave them to her, some of them would find their way back to my home in some form, whatdayathink - wink!
Thanks for the giveaway. Hope I'm lucky.
Butterflies make me happy

Lea
