I have shoved, tugged, and pulled the sewing table and desk all over the room.
My goal was to be able to see out the windows, have the desk up against the sewing table to make more quilting space, while working on larger quilts. I hate it when they slide off the table.

ReplyDeleteI love these kinds of easy patchy strip quilts. I like it with out the sashing. Sashing would take too much of the spontaneity out of it. I even like it the way it hangs with no boarder. Trish
Hi Janet....I agree with Trish....no sashing is needed. I'd simply bind it with a narrow binding. Actually, you could do a pieced binding, using some of your favorite colors used in the quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful kitty!
Hope your sewing room arrangements work better for you now. I did the same thing a couple of months ago...I now face the window from the "back half" of the room using a sewing table placed near the sewing cabinet where my 2nd machine is. It is great!
Take care!
Karen
I love your scrap quilt and I don't think it needs anything but a narrow binding.
ReplyDeleteYou might try setting your ironing board up on the left side of your sewing table, then lowering it down to the same level. That gives extra room to lay out your quilt. I have also used a card table, which is currently the same height as my sewing table. I think it was a great idea to move everything into the center of the room.
That mile a minute quilt top is sooooo cute!!!
