Avoiding the sewing room

I would like to start todays post by thanking everyone that takes the time to read my post. I would love it if you would also leave a comment, it makes my day.

I haven't been in here for awhile.

This is the mess I am avoiding tackling.

The shop is much tidier, so I have been hanging out there lately. This is a sink pedestal I have been sorking on, I'm not sure what I am going to do with it yet,

but I am thinking I may use it under this fountain.

One of my favorite books for inspiration is by Kaffe Fassett, most quilters are familiar with the name as he also makes beautiful quilts.

I would love to do this to my concrete floor I showed you in the previous post.

Imagine how much time a person would spend on their knees.

It may be worth it though.

A few more of my favorites from Kaffe Fassett

And I will share a table with you that I did last year.

I recently changed it to white, I like it much better now.

Have a great weekend.

  1. I always read your blog, but rarely comment (sorry about that, I'll try to do better in the future).
My sewing room looks worse than yours and I have been avoiding mine all summer. This week end I have vowed that I will get back in there and make sense of the mess, complete a project and post happily about it on my blog. Cross my heart!!
Your mosaic tables are beautiful - I liked both versions... You are very talented!

  2. I'm glad I'm not the only one with a messy sewing room. We had some great weather today, so I've been doing some outdoor painting and washing windows, etc. A little burst before it's back to school time. I've been thinking of making an outdoor tile table, but I like your mosaic ones. I have a plate that's broken and glued back together that would be just the thing. How did you learn how to do it, was there a book with directions?

  3. Love your blog and don’t always comment. Sorry! I know how wonderful it is to receive comments.

I’m working in a mess that’s far worse than yours. I try not to pay any notice and just keep on sewing!
When I wake up at night I promise myself to start cleaning the mess next day... then the sewing-machine calls for my attention.

I love your mosaics. It makes me think of the ones my grandma made. I loved to watch her cut all the pieces of mosaic glass. She actually travelled to Italy to buy the colours she loved most.

I love your white table the best!

  4. I don't think a sewing room every looks neat, it seems there is some project laying around that needs to be finished and several more waiting to be started or the ones we have left unfinished. I love your tables and I'm glad you changed it to white.

  5. You're still creating beautiful stuff, even if it's not in the sewing room!

    Have a great weekend!

  6. I don't always comment, but I do always read!!

The mosaics are fantastic! that looks like a fun and interesting craft to do. I could probably get into that. But starting a new type of craft is the LAST thing I should be doing!!

  7. YOur mosaics look great! And your sewing room doesn't look that bad. Sometimes when I'm overwhelmed, I make myself clean up/put things away for 15 minutes only. If I go in there knowing the time is short, it doesn't seem so bad. (I usually end up spending more time anyway)
